The Moon

The moon glows on nights like this for a thousand years. 10 thousand stars fill the space of my thought life and fresh cut grass hits my olfactory nerve. Life is grand. One day I will progress and be big and bright just like the big ole moon that hangs over Elkins. Blue moon of WV keep on shining. One day I will stroke it big time. One day I'll be free. Free like the voices inside me. The voices of Kentucky thunder and rain like fire. Then I will rest my weary bones awhile.
